FOR INTERMEDIATE LEARNERS

Spanish House intermediate classes build upon students' prior knowledge of the Spanish language. Speaking, listening, reading and writing exercises will be utilized. Specific skills that will be taught include:

B1 (For learners who have completed beginning Spanish classes)
  • Common phrasal verbs
  • Reflexive pronouns
  • Part 2, the verbs “TO BE” ( ser and estar )
  • Prepositions por and para
  • Preterit vs. Imperfect tense (comí vs. comía ), regular and irregular
  • Adverbial pharses
  • Conditional sentenses using si (if)
  • Relative pronouns
B2 (For students who have completed beginning and some intermediate classes)
  • Imperative tense
  • Present perfect (he estudiado) and Future perfect (habré estudiado)
  • Review of prepositions
  • Passive voice
  • Use of "se"
  • Past perfect (había estudiado) and Conditional perfect (habría estudiado)
  • Subjunctive tense
  • Common expressions and sayings
